Milroy's of Soho has released the Soho Selection . For this particular series, Milroy's are looking for the more unusual, more modern expressions that show good whisky can come at any age.
Nose: beautiful coast, with chalk, seaweed and beach pebbles. Then also candied fruit, cider, apple and mineral oils. Hints of fresh linen. Subtle sourdough and paprika. Increasing citrus notes after a while.
Palate: More citrus and maybe unripe pineapple, along with white pepper and mineral notes, brine and lots of chalk. Rosemary and ink. Then a hint of cereal, with a bit of mustardy warmth and a good dose of salt. Very coastal, with a hint of marzipan underneath.
Finish: long and earthy. Lots of chalky notes, brioche and pepper at the end.
A muscular Campbeltown malt that looks older than it actually is.
Age: 6 years old
