Milroy's of Soho has released the Soho Selection . For this particular series, Milroy's are looking for the more unusual, more modern expressions that show good whisky can come at any age.
Drawn from a sherry puncheon, this bold, fruit-forward single malt was distilled at the Speyside distillery back in 2010. After 14 years in oak, it’s developed lush, inviting notes of salted caramel, cinnamon, liquorice and stewed fruits, all held in a luxurious waxy texture. An elegant addition to our Soho Selection line-up.
Nose: Fresh pear and green apple kick off a lush, inviting nose, backed by toffee, salted caramel, croissants, summer berries, and a dusting of icing sugar. Warm earth, baking spices and a turn of black pepper add depth, while Wether’s Original sweets and liquorice emerge with time.
Palate: The palate brings even more orchard fruits, stewed this time. Pineapple arrives shortly after, along with fresh orange and a touch of marzipan. A waxy texture holds more rich, earthy notes, with savoury spices playing out towards the back.
Finish: Long and indulgent with cinnamon, nutmeg and lingering toasted oak.
