Milroy's of Soho has released the Soho Selection . For this particular series, Milroy's are looking for the more unusual, more modern expressions that show good whisky can come at any age.
A thrilling and rarely spotted rye release here all the way from Indiana! Bottled as part of our Soho Selection range, this 2017-distilled whiskey spent seven years in new oak, letting all those beautiful bready, cherry and menthol notes develop – the epitome of an excellent rye. It was made at MGP, which is renowned for supplying the whiskey industry with top-quality liquid.
Nose: Initially menthol-forward, the nose develops with both power and complexity. Bready notes give way to red cherry, marmalade on toast, blackcurrant, black pepper, shortbread, dark chocolate, tobacco box and neroli perfume.
Palate: The rich, profoundly complex palate offers a basket-load of red fruits, along with coconut, salted caramel and sumptuous creamy coconut notes. This is punctuated by a pleasing chilli heat, pot-pourri florals and eucalyptus, all set in a distinctively oily texture.
Finish: Long and bold, with more of those bread-like grains and dried florals.
Age: 7 years old
Strength: 56.3% abv
